Information for Applicants to the Montana Business Incubator (MBI)
Before applying, please review the Admissions Criteria information sheet. If you feel your company qualifies, please submit the Pre-Application and each of the required documents listed in the Pre-Application checklist. If you have questions regarding the application process, please call or e-mail the MBI staff. All information submitted will be held in confidence and used only for the purpose of evaluation for acceptance into the MBI Program. We look forward to reviewing your application.
The MBI serves both on-site and off-site companies. MBI clients that assume an off-site role are afforded virtually the same benefits and services available to on-site residents.
The MBI makes a substantial investment of time and resources in its entrepreneurial companies. As an organization that solicits, and spends public and private funds, the MBI must be conscientious in the due diligence process before admitting a company into the program. In addition, limited resources mean that only a limited number of clients can be served at any one time with a high quality of services in the MBI program.
The MBI also makes financial requirements of companies entering the MBI. Although the MBI is a non-profit organization, the MBI seeks to recoup a small portion of the investment of time and intellectual capital MBI makes in its client companies in order to maintain the organization and expand future capabilities. The incoming company founders and the MBI staff negotiate the specific financial arrangements upon entry in the MBI.
The MBI selects clients that are most likely to help the MBI achieve its mission of creating wealth in Eastern Montana. Within the context of its mission and the guidelines of its entrance criteria, the MBI will provide equal access to the MBI program for all entrepreneurs.
